Located in the heart of the Golden Vale, the Fethard Horse Country Experience offers visitors the opportunity to discover the rich culture, heritage and history of the region. Part of Ireland’s Ancient East, this interactive experience examines the relationship between the people, the land and the horse revealing how they are all inextricably linked. Spread out over two floors within the 17th century Tholsel building, the engaging nature of the exhibition makes it an enjoyable and informative activity for all ages. This immersive experience truly sets the scene for your private tour of Coolmore Stud Farm which is situated in the heart of the Golden Vale on over 7,000 prime acres of Ireland’s finest limestone land providing the perfect environment for breeding and raising thoroughbreds.

Accompanied by your dedicated Equine Concierge, you will be able to enter through the hallowed gates of Coolmore Stud and experience life at one of the world’s largest and most successful thoroughbred racehorse breeding operations. Learn about the farm’s incredible history and racing legacy while getting up close and personal with champion stallions and mares.

Parking & Accessibility

Parking is available on-site for individual vehicles or small vans at both the Fethard Horse Country Experience and Coolmore Stud. The Fethard Horse Country Experience is all indoors, whereas the tour of Coolmore Stud is outdoors. Please dress accordingly for the weather, closed toe shoes are recommended.

Crossogue Stud is a family run boutique breeding and racing farm in the heart of Tipperary. Your hosts, Mark Molloy and his team are passionate about all things racing and will take you on the journey with their horses from “in utero” to the racecourse and all the nurturing in between for these wonderful, majestic animals.

After an introduction over tea and scones, we will start by watching the horses in training on the gallop or schooling over jumps, whatever might be in their daily routine. This will be followed by a tour of the farm (you will be able to choose to do this either on horseback or on foot) to see the mares with their foals and the developing youngsters as they graze on lush green pasture (this is time of the year dependent).

For capable riders we are happy to extend this riding experience to include a longer hack, cantering, or even some cross country jumping which is available throughout the farm.

The morning will be completed by joining us for a brunch where we will continue to tell our story and happily answer any questions there might be.

Parking & Accessibility
Plenty of parking is available on site, along with small to medium bus access. This is not a disability friendly experience as it involves horse back riding, and/or walking throughout a working farm.  Please dress accordingly for the weather as this is an outdoor experience as well.
