“What a Surprise”

I was truly taken aback, arrived expecting a pub experience. This hotel is just
so much better than I had hoped for, excellent accomodation, first class facilities
and the most helpful Staff I have encountered for a long time. I travel a lot in
my work spending around 30 weeks a year in hotels, I rate the Horse and Jockey
so far above the Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, Travelodge type of Hotel and for the
same money ,it's value for money is undisputable. All this and the nicest local
people i have met in many a year, well done the R.O.I. you may be expensive
but Hotels like this make that irrelevant. Cant wait for the next job in Thurles.

I have just returned from a three day break in the Horse & Jockey Hotel and
have to say, It amazes me every time I stay there, I find even more things to
recommend it. This time we eat all our meals in the Hotel and can honestly
say from breakfast to dinner it was flawless and seriousely delicous. If your
into steak this is your place, Melt in the Mouth, if chicken is your thing try the
pan fry, Yummy Yummy. Breakfast is an experience and these nice people
serve until 11. Value for money, Lovely staff, Delicious food, Great leisure
centre Beat that!! I think its the best Hotel in Munster.

Re: Overnight Stay
Although it was a brief one night say can I just say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you recently. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were extra delighted when we saw our room and that the standard was so high, very clean etc. We didn't realise untill we were checking out that it was a superior room we were given so we want to say a big thank you for that. We also want to mention the restaurant which is top class so compliments to the chef and to the lady who looked after us on the evening, I'm sorry we didn't get any of their names. So many hotels take their guests for granted and don't make an effort, you want to feel, as we did at the Horse & Jockey, is to feel special and well looked after when you are paying out hard earned money. Keep up the good work and best wishes for the future.

Re: Irish Grasslands Association Annual Sheep Conference
The Irish Grassland Association recently held their Annual Sheep Conference at the Horse & Jockey Hotel. A secretary for the IGA I was dealing with Caroline and other staff prior to and during the event.
I cannot commend Caroline highly enough for all the help and support she provided me with, not only prior to the event but most especially on the day itself. I found Caroline to be very helpful, efficient and calm throughout the day despite some tough requets. In addition I found the remainder of the staff to be equally helpful and suportive, not only to the IGA committee members, but to all delegates attending the event.
In addition to the fantastic staff, the facilities were second to none.
I, along with the subcommittee of the IGA organizing the event felt it was a very successful event and this is in no mall part to the help and support from your staff.
I wish you every success in the future and will be recommending the Horse & Jockey as an excellent venue for future events.

Re: Stop off at Coffee Bar
Just a note to say what a nice experience it was to come off the new motorway into the Horse & Jockey. Excellent coffee and cake. We bought a lemon curd cake for my mum's birthday and it was beautiful & scrumptious. Please thank the baker. We did not have a full meal but perhaps the next time.

Re: Mid-week Break
Firstly I must say that the hotel is fabolous. As soon as we walked in the front door we were more than impressed. Through our entire stay we have been greeted with smiles and hellos. So a big thank-you for all your help and friendliness. We will definately be back again. Thank you especially to Anne-Marie and Tom, it's been wonderful. May your hotel continue with it's success.
P.S. We have seen the hours you put in Tom, fair play!
